Term 1 Exams

All examinations will be conducted orally.

Each student will have one oral examination, during which the examiner will assess the student on all of the books and material listed for their year group.

Year 2

The primary purpose of the examination is to assess whether students are making satisfactory progress in their ability to independently understand Arabic texts. At this stage, perfection is not expected. Rather, students should demonstrate that they are developing the skills required to work through Arabic texts under the guidance of a teacher.

Students will therefore be expected either to read, translate, and analyse the text correctly, or, where mistakes are made, to demonstrate an ability to recognise and correct those mistakes when prompted by the examiner.

Results will be provided in the form of individual feedback rather than percentages or grades. The purpose of this feedback is to identify each student's current level of progress, highlight areas of strength, and indicate any areas requiring further attention.

These examinations are intended as an assessment of students' current progress and will not contribute towards or be carried forward to the end-of-year marks.
