Entire Book

Goals

To be able to:

• Understand and apply all the rules mentioned in the book

• Understand and translate the sentences in the exercises

• Do tarkib of the sentences

• Recall vocabulary

• Identify learnt concepts to text in other books and apply the rules to them

Teaching Methodology

The teacher will explain new rules and concepts during the lesson.  These will then be reinforced by applying them through written and oral exercises. 

Under the supervision of the teacher, students will complete the exercises verbally. 

In more complex sentences, the teacher may ask students to write one full sentence along with its tarkīb (grammatical breakdown).

Note 1

From term 2, much of the essential concepts would have been covered in FSTU Arabic Abridged. Therefore, the students will be expected to be familiar with the covered information, and the pace of the class will be quicker and the focus will be on the  exercises and new concepts not covered in FSTU Arabic Abridged.

Note 2

Unit 3, Part 5: Pages 184-194

The teacher will only explain the concept using a few selected examples. The entire set of exercises will not be covered during the lesson. Students may complete the remaining exercises independently for full understanding.

Unit 3, Part 6: Pages 196-220

The teacher will only explain the concept using a few selected examples. The entire set of exercises will not be covered during the lesson. Students may complete the remaining exercises independently for full understanding.

Unit 4, Part 1: Pages 299-324

Most of the concepts in this section have already been covered in First Steps to Understanding Ṣarf. Therefore, the teacher will briefly recap these concepts using a few selected examples.
