Goals

• Read the text fluently using the text without tashkeel.

• Translate the text.

• Analyse all verbs and mushtaqqaat.

• Explain the grammatical structure of complex sentences (Do Tarkib)

• Recall new vocabulary.

Teaching Methodology

Year 1: Term 3

The teacher will place the text without tashkeel on the board. The students should read from this.

Recap

Students will be tested on the previous day's lessons.

New Lesson

Students will be made to explain all verbs and mushtaqqaat as they have learnt in sarf.

Students will be made to do tarkib of all sentences.

Students will be made to translate all sentences.

Students will be tested on new vocabulary.

Year 1: Term 4 and Year 2-3

Students will be expected to know all the information covered daily. However, the teacher will gradually decrease sarf, Nahw and Tarkib analysis as students become familiar with the text.  

Exams and Course Work

Course Work

Each term, each student will be assigned one passage as coursework. This will make up 5 points.

Students will be required to:

• Translate the passage

• Explain any difficult tarkib and irab.

Students should liaise with their teacher who will guide them through the coursework. 

Exams

Each exam will make up 20 points.
