Memorise all the conjugation tables listed within the book and recite them fluently to the teacher without any mistakes.
Recognise, conjugate and translate verbs from English to Arabic and Arabic to English, especially verbs from the Quran
Pronounce, recall, spell and define all the Arabic terminologies and rules

Secondary Goals

Understand and memorise the basic rules mentioned in the book. Detailed rules of Sarf will be discussed in al-Wusta fi at-Tasreef.

Teaching Methodology

The teacher will explain each verb and its conjugation.

Students must memorise the conjugation tables and recite them to the teacher fluently within the time frame given in the book.

Under the supervision of the teacher, students must complete all the exercises verbally. Thereafter, the students must complete selected questions in writing.

Vocabulary

The students should try to learn all the vocab provided in the text book.

However, the words in the document below must be learnt, and words from this list will be used in the written exam.

Oral Exams

The teacher will start listening to students during class once the required amount for the term is completed. There is no designated day for this exam.

The exam will be spread over a few days.

Unit 1

Students must prepare both التصريف الصغير and التصريف الكبير of the verbs listed in the vocab section at the end of Unit 1.
In the oral exam, they will be required to:
- Read the التصريف الصغير of six different verbs from the different abwab
- Read the التصريف الكبير of one randomly selected verb.
All tables must be completed within two minutes to pass the exam.

Students who do not pass will be required to retake the exam.

Unit 2

Students must prepare both التصريف الصغير and التصريف الكبير of the verbs listed in the vocab section at the end of Unit 2.
In the oral exam, they will be required to:
- Read the التصريف الصغير of all the المزيد فيه abwab.
- Read the التصريف الكبير of one randomly selected verb.

Unit 3-9

Students will need to read to the appointed teacher all the tables provided in this document.
The students will keep the booklet in front of them during the exam.
Each question is worth 2 marks

- 1 mark for correctness
- 1 mark for fluency
